Individual Attention
The first contact with our customers is usually by phone. Our friendly staff will offer options to help you choose the rental vehicle to best suit your needs. We’ll listen to you, give helpful tips, provide beneficial local information, and get to know you enough to truly call you part of our Sanibel Car Rentals family
Convenience
When you’re in need of a rental car, getting to the car in the first place can be inconvenient. We make it easy! We will pick you up at your island home or resort and bring you to our office and your waiting rental car. Arrangements can be made by our sister company Island Taxi. Or, for a small fee, we can bring the rental car to you—and pick it up—at your island home. That’s convenience!
Catering to the Customers Needs
We allow a 3-hour grace period on the 24 hour rental. We know delays can occur, so we strive to be very flexible in helping our customers have a great rental experience, even when things happen beyond your control. We assure our customers the vehicle you reserved is the vehicle you will receive upon arrival.
Our Vehicles
Our quality fleet features Toyota vehicles. Our luxury model is a
Mercedes SUV. Our Standard Cars include a RAV 4 and Highlander SUV’s. A Sienna MiniVan rounds off our vehicle fleet giving you plenty of options for the size, seating and comfort you need.
Safety Matters
Safety is job number one for us. We go through a careful process to purchase great cars and run them through inspections—with an ASE Certified Mechanic using a multipoint inspection form—at least twice a year. Before our rentals go out on each new reservation, we check all fluids and pressures. We maintain our cars on a regular schedule.
Cleanliness Matters
We place WeatherTech mats in all our cars and disinfect and clean the entire car in between each and every rental.
Who Are We?
Sanibel Car Rentals is a small, local, family-owned and operated business with plenty of local knowledge of both Sanibel & Captiva Islands. We love our customers, get to know them by name—not just a reservation number—and try our best to meet their transportation needs whether living on, or visiting, our beautiful Island communities.
The Owners
Ken and Karen Gill started Sanibel Car Rentals in January 2022. Both are involved with keeping Sanibel and Captiva vibrant with the same old Florida charm that we all love, but offering the conveniences that make living and visiting the Island a great experience. Ken and Karen also are the owners of Island Taxi. Sanibel Car Rentals and Island Taxi are sister companies.
KK is our baby doggie, Ken and Karen are the rightful owners, but we all love our little sweetheart!
It’s a Family Affair
Our team consists of Brenda Jones, Vice President of Business Operations and Customer Experience, James Jones is our Car Jockey.
Our family roots connect with two sisters, Karen Gill & Brenda Jones.
